How does Babson College adopt new technology?

Either through internal investigation into new and helpful technologies or through faculty and staff approaching an ATI member directly, the following steps take place.

Idea Generation

In this initial stage, we explore project concepts. What’s the core idea, and how does it address a specific problem or need for the Babson Community.

Pilot Implementation

Here, the ATI Center creates a detailed pilot plan, collects feedback from outside of IT, and evaluates the results. The final decision: Should this innovation become part of the Babson Technology Toolbox?

Stage 4:

Community Rollout

​Finally, we introduce the innovation to the Babson Community. This involves communication, documentation on the Faculty and Student Portals, and training.

Stop by the ATI Center, located in Horn 216 – right across the hall from the IT Help Desk –  and anyone on the Innovation Pipeline team will be happy to answer your questions.

It really depends! External factors such as time of year, necessity or interest in the tool, and prerequisites can make the process take more or less time.
